Practice Policies
At Tejas Pediatrics, we are strongly committed to our patients and their families. We do our very best to ensure each child receives the highest standard of medical care. We believe a partnership between parent and physician is essential. In order to achieve this level of care, there are certain office policies that we adhere to. Our physicians follow American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines including those guidelines related to immunizations. Immunizations are a powerful way to prevent disease. We consider them an essential component of preventive health care. We strive to accommodate our patients with same day appointments when they are ill. If an appointment must be cancelled, we ask that it be done 24 hours in advance. "No Shows" limit our ability to accommodate families with sick children with same day appointments. After Hours services, such as nurse triage, are provided for established patients only. In order to determine the appropriate treatment for a child, he or she must be seen and examined by a physician. For your child's safety, we do not prescribe medications after hours. For any questions related to practice policies, please contact Rebecca Cavazos, Office Manager or Yvonne Quiroga, Practice Administrator.
